Graduates

Congratulations to the WHS Class of 2023! Diplomas were conferred on Saturday, June 10 at Merrill Auditorium.  Families, friends, and faculty filled the audience to honor our graduates. Class Marshalls Khaled E. and Plamedi S., led the class and Class President Jenita V., Valedictorian Natalie L., Salutatorian Simon W., Honor Essayist Bryce B., and WRVC Highest Achieving Student Matthew B. presented powerful speeches with messages for their classmates and our community. School Committee Chair Sue Salisbury, Co-Principal Wendy Harvey, and Superintendent Dr. Peter Lancia also offered remarks that recognized this amazing class and sent them off to their next adventures. After the ceremony, students participated in Project Graduation at the Westbrook Community Center. Thank you to everyone who made the evening memorable, celebratory, and fun. Special thanks to Sue Bailey who manages graduation events so meticulously. Thanks also to Beth Murphy, Pam Wescott, Jodi Shackley, Rob Card, Cynthia Wescott, Doug Sawyer, Wendy Carlton, Bill Chabot, Greg Thornton, Barry Francouer, Rick Solomon, Deb Baggs, Nicole Sturgis, Jeff Guerette, Patrick Colgan, Dr. Kim O'Donnell, Dr. Brian Mazjanis, and others who helped manage students and with multiple details over the last few weeks. Thank you to Cari Sbardella who announced names so eloquently and served as class advisor and Wendy Harvey who served as Senior Co-Principal. Thank you to our amazing faculty and staff and WHS and across the district who taught and guided the class so well over the years. Thank you to the Project Graduation Committee for organizing a great post-graduation celebration. And  the thank you to our families for sharing your children with us and working together to help every student succeed. We are all so proud of our newest alumni and wish them well!
