Good Morning Congin Cougar Families,
Happy Wednesday! I hope you are all having a terrific week so far! Here are some updates for this week:
It's Wednesday, which means it's an early release day. Students will be dismissed starting at 2:30.
Today is also Wacky Wednesday! Students can come to school in all things wacky to celebrate our work with Healthy Hearts in the month of February.
On Monday, we had a whole-school assembly where we celebrated our work with Healthy Hearts, and we rolled out our new theme of perseverance! We read
Little Spot of Perseverance
by Diane Alber, and we challenged students to earn perseverance spots for the month of March. Our cougars were challenged to 500 spots by the end of the month.
Read Across America is happening this week! Many teachers have been having some guest readers come in to read to students, and others have planned fun activities throughout the week. Just yesterday, Jeff Peterson from WGME News 13 came in to read to Mrs. McLaughlin's 4th grade class! Students have been having a great time, but most of all, they have been reading a lot this week!
Weather at Your School with Todd McInerney will be coming to Congin next Wednesday to do the weather broadcast at Congin. Families and students are invited to join the broadcast at 5:45am! We hope to see you there!
Spring Picture Day will be taking place this Friday. All families will be sent proofs of the pictures in a few weeks and then you will be able to go on the online portal to order pictures if you like them!
We had a Glow Dance put on by our PTO last weekend, and it was very well-attended by families and students. Thank you to all of you who came to join us, and we hope you had a lot of fun!
We will be having a PTO meeting next Monday at 5:30pm in the Congin cafeteria.
if you would like to join virtually.
We are looking for a Long-Term Substitute for one of our kindergarten classes. If you know anyone who would be interested in joining the Congin team, please share with them
to the posting. The candidate must have a background in education.
It's a great day to be a cougar!
Sincerely,
Marc Bisson
Principal
