Good Morning Congin Cougar Families,
Happy Wednesday, and Happy December! I hope you all had a wonderful break and a happy Thanksgiving. I also hope you were able to stay warm and safe during our storm yesterday.
We are gearing up for the next few weeks before our next break! Here are some updates for this week:
It's Wednesday, so that means it is an early release day! Students will be dismissed at 2:20.
Thank you to everyone who donated to support our families and community for our month of gratitude. We were overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity, and have numerous food items to give to our families during the holidays. Thank you!
Our next school assembly will be this morning and we will be rolling out our new theme of kindness. Each day, students will be challenged with a specific act of kindness. Whenever they are caught being kind, they will earn a lightbulb sticker to "light up Congin with kindness!"
We will be having picture retakes on Friday. This will only be for students who missed our original picture day or for students whose families would like their child to participate in retakes. If you would like to have your child participate, please make sure to reach out to your child's teacher.
Our next PTO meeting will be on Monday, December 8th in the Congin cafeteria at 5:30pm for anyone that would like to attend. If you would like to attend virtually, here is the link!
As we head into the holidays and cold/flu season, I just want to remind all of our families the importance of attendance at school. As a whole school, we are at 95.56% attendance from the start of the school year, which is great! We have a goal of 96% by the end of the school year, so let's keep up the strong attendance. Remember that attendance, specifically chronic absences, is something that the State of Maine looks at when looking at our overall school performance. Please make sure to plan extended travel and trips during our school vacations. Additionally, make sure your child makes it to school before 8:40 to not be tardy.
