All Westbrook families are invited to the Westbrook Middle School on Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to celebrate the joy of literacy and learning. We will be joined by the award-winning children's book author Hena Kahn. There will also be opportunities to purchase texts, participate in multi-lingual storytelling, collect free writing and math tools and games, engage with literacy resources, and enjoy refreshments.
In order to prepare for Hena Kahn's visit, Saccarappa School students have read Hena Kahn's books and participated in corresponding activities during library. The students had a choice to brainstorm world records they'd like to break, which connects to the book Zara's Rules for Record Breaking Fun, design a henna tattoo bookmark, or make a lantern which connects to Golden Domes and Silver Lanterns: A Muslim Book of Colors.
Thank you to our library teacher, Mrs. Tanguay, for getting the students excited for this fun-filled family engagement opportunity. We hope to see you all there!
