The District 1 Honors Music Festival was hosted by lovely Noble HS in Berwick. In the words of Westbrook Music Director Sue Proulx, "Maybe we are bragging just a little, but we have 27 music students (!!) taking part in this festival, and all are doing such a great job (because they came well-prepared for the first downbeat)!"
WHS boasted students in ALL of the ensembles: the Honors Band, the Nominated Band, the Mixed Chorus and the Treble Chorus. We were especially proud that our own Joey Hendricks DIRECTED the nomination band this year. Kudos to Joey for sharing his conducting and teaching skills and for providing both a deep and enjoyable experience for the students!
This school community has always had such a proud music tradition, performing and competing at the highest levels. It is so incredibly impressive that somehow Ms. Proulx, Mr. Smith, and Mr. Hendricks continue to raise the bar, year after year, and in every musical context. Simply the best!
