Mills Signs

Governor Janet Mills visited WHS last week to sign a ceremonial bill banning cell phones in schools in the state of Maine. It was the first time a sitting governor visited the school. What an amazing day! As Mills said, "Bell-to-bell, no cells!" The bill protects the learning (and social) environment in schools by removing personal electronic devices, which can be such powerful and harmful distractions.

Thank you to Governor Mills and her team, as well as Senator Duson, Reps Sue Salisbury, Morgan Rielly, and Drew Gattine, not only for being strong advocates in Augusta for our students, but also for taking the time out of their busy schedules to visit WHS and make such a powerful statement.
