The WRVC Criminal Justice program is proud to share the incredible outcome of this year’s Giving Tree initiative. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our school community and local supporters, our students collected an enormous amount of much-needed personal care items, bedding, clothing, toys, gift cards, and monetary donations to support children and families in need in the city of Westbrook and the Greater Portland area. The response truly reflected the spirit of community care and compassion that this program is built upon. Thank you to our very generous donors!!!

Also, a special thank you goes to Officer Doucette of the Westbrook Police Department, who partnered with our Criminal Justice students and their instructor, Officer Jason Kopp, to load his truck, filled with these generous donations. This collaboration highlighted the real-world connection between criminal justice education and public service, reinforcing for students that justice extends far beyond the classroom and into meaningful action within the community.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to every individual who contributed to the Giving Tree. Your generosity has made a lasting difference for local families during the holiday season, and we are humbled by your willingness to help. Thank you as well to our Criminal Justice students and Officer Kopp for leading this entirely student-run initiative and for pouring your hearts into a project that embodies empathy, service, and integrity. You have truly shown what it means to serve your community.
