Recruitment season is officially underway at the Westbrook Regional Vocational Center (WRVC)! School Counselor Rachel O’Toole and Assistant Director Kim Bennett have been visiting WRVC’s primary sending schools, along with a few of our secondary schools, to share information about the wide range of career and technical education programs available to students.

Presentations have primarily been delivered to sophomores, giving students a look into the incredible opportunities available through WRVC. At some schools—such as Windham, pictured above—current WRVC students joined the presentations,  answering questions from prospective students.  Each visit features WRVC’s new recruitment video (Linked below) and a detailed slideshow that highlights each program, pathways to careers, and hands-on learning opportunities.

Students who express interest in WRVC will work with their school counselors to schedule an on-site visit, where they spend time exploring one or two programs of interest. Following their visit, students may apply online. As part of the application process, prospective students meet with instructors for interviews—an opportunity for students to learn more about program expectations and for instructors to get to know each student’s interests and goals. Accepted students are then notified through their school counselor and begin their career and technical education journey in the fall of 2026.

Students and families who may be interested in any of WRVC’s programs are encouraged to contact their school counselor or reach out to WRVC directly for more information.
